R.I.P. RAZR
last night the black RAZR died, it made it's last few calls just before a tragic accident involving a shallow sink-full of water. i've heard you can drown in a teaspoon of water, as it turns out a phone can die the same sad way. the RAZR was a good, hard-working phone for several years purchased the week of release, but lately it had become quite ill in the last few months. the RAZR suffered dropped calls, network failure, inability to connect to calls (frequently displaying "call failed" message), cavities in it's bluetooth connection and last but not least the refusal to charge when connected to the power source. no one could have predicted drowing as it's method of demise. holding on to the last shred of hope- maybe the RAZR jumped into the water, knowing it was soon to be upgraded by the apple iphone.... i guess we'll never know. little did it know it would not be all together replaced but saved as a backup, for just such emergencies.
black RAZR, you lead a full life of calls, texts, voicemails and IM chats... RIP black RAZR

I'm deeply saddened to hear that.
It's a good thing iPhone has been announced for June 29.
how sad. sounds like he led a happy life while under your care...he just couldn't go on knowing he was going to be replaced.
I hear you can put it in the freezer for a few days, thaw it, and it might return to it's former (late in life) glory!
there was no hope for a recovery of the phone... i watched in horror the bubbles coming out of it, there was instantly water under the screens and the battery was soaked...
my reason for living yesterday was to find a cheap replacement to hold me over til i can get my iphone. i am connected to the world again via the cutest pink SLVR L7 ever!
i've heard so many release dates, but one scares me most of all... i've heard several dates for june, but i've also heard that cingular is telling people they won't get them in the stores til september.... and i plan on upgrading through so as to get it a bit cheaper, i hope that rumor isn't true. or it's going to be torture to wait that much longer.
I lost my first phone in the washing machine. I didn't realize that it was in there until investigating the source of the repetative clunking noise from the dryer. It actually still could recieve calls, but the screen was cracked, and the buttons didn't light up, and half of them didn't work. So, I got a new cheapy "temporary phone" which is the one that I still have and have been using for over a year.
I feel better knowing that black RAZR is happy and ringing loudly in cell phone heaven now.
Poor little RAZR. :(
