thanks for the joke evan!

A conversation between Steve and Bill:

Steve: The zune uses wifi to do what?

Bill: To send a song to another zune for 3 plays.

Steve: Why would you do that? Regardless. Check this out... Oh, and one more thing: no, it's not just for Mac.

$600 and no 3G? You can't buy iTunes songs from the phone?

It has WiFi, but it can't be used to sync with your host machine.
You only get 8GB that cannot be expanded, and a portion of that is used to run OSX gadgets.
The battery cannot be removed or replaced.

I could buy any other phone out there for way less.

Oh, and let's not forget the mandatory two year Cingular contract.

So why would I want a Zune?
Hmm, well, I guess cause it's a damn good 30GB media player for $249, and I already have a phone and contract. But I think more than anything it's the fact that it doesn't have an apple on the back of it - meaning there's a good chance it won't catch fire or have it's HD die after one month like every Apple POS I've ever bought.

well, i know you and that have have a chip on your shoulder against apple, and i don't think they could make anything that you'd like. so why argue about this... since you hate your iMac so much why don't you just sell it and get a windows box?

but i will say on the manatory two year cingular contract, you have to do that when you buy any new phone, so what? i'm happy the carrier is cingular so i don't have to switch, and just renew my contract.

and they said the batteries aren't replaceable on regular iPods either... they are, there's a place in KC that will do it for $35 as well as upgrade hard drives. let me know if you want the web addy.

ps- love you too! ;o)
